Animal Care

Gaining hands on experience in animal husbandry, medical treatments, and behavior for a wide variety of species.

Important notes about Animal Care:

  • We ask that all volunteers that would like to participate in animal care be 16 years of age or older.

  • Be prepared to professionally handle situations involving defensive animals, bad smells, medical treatments, and needles.

  • While we are still growing, our animal care shifts are limited to twice a week opportunities.

  • Have reliable transportation to and from our shelter.
