Guided Hikes

Guided hikes are great for anyone who wants to learn more about wild animals and natural spaces in the Northern Colorado area.

Each hike includes opportunities to see a variety turtles, snakes, and amphibians, and to learn more about…

  • How to respectfully interact with wild animals and wild spaces

  • Identifying which animals are invasive and which are native

  • How to recognize burrows and infer which animal made them

  • Life stages of animals (season-dependent)

  • Behaviors in the wild vs. captivity

  • Replicating wild spaces in captivity

Herping hikes are a great opportunity to chat about respectful herping, how you can enjoy the hobby while advocating for the wellbeing of local species, and see some amazing animals up close in their natural habitats!

If you have questions about accessibility (ex: mobility on trails, communication needs, etc.), please feel free to reach out so we can accommodate however we can. We have volunteers with diverse backgrounds who may be able to make this experience more comfortable for folks who need accommodations, and we can recommend upcoming excursions that may be more mobility-friendly.
